Sending Instant Messages

You can send an instant message to anyone in your chat room. It will not be visible to the rest of the chatters.

To send an instant message:

• From the People List on the right side of the chat window, double click a member name and click Send Instant Message. You can also right click on a member name and select Send Instant Message
• Type your message in the Message field
• Click Send
• You can also send a gestures with your message

To return an instant message:

• Click Respond in the instant message window.
• Type the text of your message
• Click Send. Your response will appear on the screen of the person who sent the original message.

Note: Instant Message windows close when you send your message and reappear when the member responds.

The Make Tab button on the Instant Message window places a tab at the bottom of the chat pane (just like the Chat Room and What's Hot tabs) and lets you continue your private conversation in a chat-style pane rather than the separate message window. If you choose this option, your conversation is still private.
