Downloading and Installing VP
To download the VP chat program, go to our download
page and select "Download VP Chat now."
- Click Download Now. A Save As window
will appear.
- Save the file to the directory where
you normally download software
- Click Save. The software should appear
in the directory you've chosen.
To install the VP chat program:
- Double click on the "vpchat.exe"
icon. The installer will guide you through the process and install the chat
software on your hard drive. It will also place a shortcut on your desktop.
- Double click the chat icon to begin
chatting.
In order to offer a free trial to guest users that has an
expiration date, we need to be able to uniquely identify the guest user. Chat name,
email, or IP address are insufficient for this purpose since they can be easily
changed. Our chat client looks for serial number information on the hard drive
and/or ethernet hardware (MAC) address to create a unique ID. This information is
scrambled using one-way encryption so the only thing our server sees is a unique
number for each guest user.
Halsoft VPchat software does not transmit any serial number or address information
to our servers. This can be verified by anyone who cares to look at a network
trace.
