Tracker Layout
Tracker runs in a window which can be set to always display on top, or can
be iconized and run in background mode. The application icon is displayed in the Windows
95 system tray on the task bar until it is exited. The application comprises the
following:
- Menus File, People, Options, and Help
- Ad Monitor window for broadcast advertisements
- Status displays connection status, email of selected pal, and tool tips
- Tracker List list of your "pals"; online pals are displayed in a bold,
green font
- Shortcut Buttons shortcuts to options in the People menu
Menus
Following is an overview of the menu options. See Using Tracker for
additional information.
- Reconnect reconnects you to the server
- Sign in opens a Sign In dialog for a new user to sign in
- Register opens your Web browser to the Registration page
- Change Password opens your Web browser to the Change Password page
- Change Profile opens your Web browser to the Change Profile page
- Export List exports your Tracker List to a file
- Import List imports a Tracker List file
- Exit exits the application
- Add opens a dialog to add a person or group to your Tracker List
- Remove removes a person or group from your Tracker List
- Edit name edits a selected individual or group name in your Tracker List
- Send message opens a Send Message dialog
- Directory opens the community people directory
- Make me invisible/Make me visible makes me invisible/visible to others in the
community
- Show all people/Show online people only toggles the display of online or all
people in the Tracker window
- Allowed people opens the Allowed People dialog for you to determine who can see
you online
- Status Bar shows/hides the status bar
- Always on top toggles Tracker on Top on/off
- Launch at startup adds Tracker to the startup group (to be launched
on computer startup)
- New message alert toggles alert on/off for incoming Message
- People entry alert toggles alert on/off when people on your list sign in
